NEXUS OS  is a narrative-driven horror game that unfolds entirely inside a fictional retro operating system terminal. You play as an anonymous visitor who logs into a quarantined NEXUS OS machine — a system that has been running untouched since October 1998.

This is a beta version, so there may be bugs, glitches, and unexpected behavior — some intentional, some not.

The story is discovered organically by exploring the file system. Hidden in directories, process logs, mailboxes, and archived journals are the remnants of those who came before you: Dr. Marcus Reeves, the engineer who created the system; Linda Chen, a researcher who tried to warn others; and something else — something that lingers in the wires.

The only way forward is to read everything: the .note files, the hidden directories, the archived journals, the incident reports, the kernel panic logs, and the ghost source code. Piece together what happened. Find the backdoor. Decide how it ends.

Commands are typed like a real terminal: ls, cat, cd, ps, mail, netstat, crontab -l, and more. The system responds in real time — with text effects, audio glitches, unsolicited messages, and visual corruption that intensifies the deeper you go.

Not every path leads to survival. Not every file is safe to read. And not everything in the terminal is the system talking to you.
